TABLETOPIA

Cosmic Chains already has an awesome mode in Tabletop Simulator. Even though the platform is very convenient for developing and playtesting games, it might be not as easily accessible as other solutions. After all, the more variety there is, the better!

So, we've released Cosmic Chains on Tabletopia! Big thanks to the team from Tabletopia for reaching out and sharing the game on the main page of the platform ✨

THE FINAL CODE ???

Getting back to the quest for a moment.
As we know now, all the answers from the quests were combined into a coded message received from outer space. John decoded it and the answer was: SEC property. But what does it mean?

Well, we have a guess. Siclen Studio was started as a series of get-togethers and in each we were creating a fictional universe and board games set in this sci-fi world. One of the prototypes we crafted at that time was later turned into Cosmic Chains.

Now we are returning to the idea of the universe. Actually, “Siclen” in our name refers to the fictional IT corporation Siclen Engines (SEC for short) – the biggest company in one of our sci-fi worlds with an HQ in the Earth orbit. So, not only one of our next projects might be somehow related to SEC, but there are also some easter eggs in Cosmic Chains, too! Of course, we will leave you the joy of finding them on your own 😺️️️️️️

Satellite illustrations: how we made them

Hey for the satellite fans!
Today we are sharing the drafts of our satellites. We had many iterations but since the first portion of sketches from Maria we realised—number 2 had to stay!

Much more complicated it was with Team AI. We wanted to give AI a charming look, too, but didn't want you to associate it with any neural engines (especially, considering the fact that each illustration was hand-crafted and needed much work). That is why we turned to retrofuturism. No variants from the first bunch were accepted but several ideas made it to the game: in sketches 10 and 11, AI is illustrated as blobs with vague contours, and sketch 4 shows an octopus-like satellite, which was later transformed into space-jukeboxes 🤖 

These are just some of the iterations. Are there any sketches you like most from both lists? Share in the comments!

There are no busy Mondays here. Once in a while, the cats and blobots are just chilling in their satellites, lazily planning their strategies and charging their Pew fleets. But even the Pews are in slow motion!

If you don't understand what this all is about, we've got you covered. This is Retro Lo-Fi Space Radio—a perfect playlist with original music written by Dmitrii, Cosmic Chains Game Designer. He's been a musician for many years, and, of course, when the opportunity to make a soundtrack for the game presented itself, he couldn't miss it!

You can casually listen to these 5 tracks mixed together or turn them on for a more immersive experience when playing Cosmic Chains.

And this animated video with the kitten playing around with the console... It reminds us of something 😺️️️️️️

Hi to the kittens and conscious machines all around the Earth orbit!
Today, we would like to share all the info about the rules put into one post. All this information has been available on the landing page since the first day of the campaign, but since there are many sections about different aspects of the game, we decided to highlight the rules separately, too. After all, Cosmic Chains delivers on both style and gameplay 🛰️️

First of all, here is our official "How to Play" video. We aimed to make the rules there as clear as possible. The video breaks down all the parts of the game as well as covers all game modes, from game setup to scoring. And don't worry if you lose the link to this video later. You will always find the QR code with it in your physical rulebook. And you can subscribe to our YouTube channel, too 🌝

A pdf-rulebook is attached below. Just click the banner if you have any questions left after watching the video or prefer to get acquainted with the game this way. Please keep in mind that the final version of the rulebook may slightly differ from what you can see here. We are adding a few more questions to the FAQ section after hundreds of playtests and final reviews.
